Young Artist: Chantelle Perez
“The first appearance of my character but still lacks a name. Shows them having an aggressive episode to go with the theme. It is an even blend of my comfort and background which I lack.”

Young artists at MLA are very talented and are excited to reveal their unique ways of showing emotion and attitude. These young artists have been through so much and would like you to know a little bit about them and what they think and feel when they draw. So stay tuned to this artist’s profile. Let’s begin…
Chantelle Perez was born in Chicago IL on October 12th, 2005 to immigrant parents. Chantelle has been drawing her whole life but didn’t take it seriously until 4th grade: that adds up to 6-7 years of art. Her artworks don’t have names but they all have a meaning behind the paintings/drawings. The progress of old art motivates Chantelle to keep working on the same artwork.
Chantelle is a great artist and she wants to share with other students that she is proud of her creations and would love to tell you what she is thinking about when drawing/ painting. According to Chantelle, “no student should be ashamed of their artwork and all students should express themselves through their drawings/paintings.” Thanks for reading and stay tuned for our next young artist.
